Hi, I’m Niamh, founder of Rewild Play Therapy and a Creative Psychotherapist who specialises in play.
I hold an MA in Early Childhood Studies and Practice and a Master of Arts in Creative Psychotherapy (Humanistic & Integrative Modality). I have a wealth of experience working with children and families and hold a special interest in working with children who have additional needs.
At Rewild Play Therapy, I believe every child holds innate wisdom to make meaning of their unique life experiences and challenges.
When we see a behaviour that’s problematic or confusing, the first question we should ask isn’t ‘how do we get rid of it?’ but rather ‘what is this telling us about the child?’ I do not seek to ‘fix’ or define, rather to empower children and young people to reconnect to the essence of their true selves by creating a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment where they can express and process emotions, thoughts and experiences.
I emphasise the core components of safety, relationship, playfulness and empathy as integral to the healing process for children and strive to hold children’s voices and stories at the centre of all practice.
I am a member of IAPTP (Irish Association for Play Therapy and Psychotherapy) and am fully insured and Garda Vetted.
